CATALAN SHORT FILMS / CATALAN FILM FESTIVAL 9 – 2024

In the ninth version of the Catalan Film Festival, short films will not be the exception. As in previous years, the Cinemaattic team has selected 11 exquisite short films made, produced, or filmed by talented filmmakers from the Catalan universe. In these short film programs presented in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, viewers will be able to find a wide range of stories in different formats and genres that will show you a vibrant tapestry of Catalan filmmaking.

Short films made by both legendary filmmakers and brilliant and promising Catalan filmmakers. This year the programme travels between love, comedy, memory, and nostalgia. Some films made with analogue formats, others with found – footage and others recorded in other geographies like the basin of the Danube River, the Balearic Islands or Croatia, will allow to weave borders and have a broader panorama of what Catalonia is (or what is not) and what their filmmakers desire to express in the always surprising short film format.

The films selected in this version have had recognition or have been exhibited at very important festivals such as Cannes, Berlinale, DA (Festival Internacional de Cinema d’Autor de Barcelona), Sundance, Locarno, among other very important ones.

Take a look at the titles and be encouraged to join us in this incredible cinematic adventure.
