The Inminent Age (L’edat imminent)
📅 Sunday 22nd March, 4pm
📍 Filmhouse, Edinburgh
Bruno’s (18) life is increasingly limited by the growing dependence of his grandmother Nati (86), the only family he has ever known. As he juggles caring for her with work and friends, an opportunity arises when a public nursing home offers her a place — forcing him to confront a decision he has never allowed himself to face before. L’edat imminent is a tender coming-of-age drama about family bonds, responsibility and letting go.
This family drama thoughtfully explores the relationships formed between young people and their grandparents. Created by Col·lectiu Vigília, a group of young filmmakers who all met at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, The Imminent Age joins us at the Catalan Film Festival after screenings at San Sebastian International Film Festival and winning a special mention at Cork International Film Festival.
